We have come a long way in 50 years—from a small fishing village to a thriving garden city.
But did you know that there are still farms in and around our tiny island?
Amid lush greenery and the open waters of Singapore, the Kranji Countryside offers more than just peaceful respite.
As Singapore's last remaining enclave of local farming, it provides a glimpse to our rich history, and farming activities for all to enjoy.
Join us, the Singapore Young Farmers, in reconnecting back with the earth!
Why are our farms important?
A tiny city-state like Singapore is heavily dependent on external sources for food. By maintaining 1% of Singapore’s land for local farming, we can grow our own food in a secure, safe, and sustainable manner.
Who are the Singapore Young Farmers?
The Singapore Young Farmers are a team of second generation farmers and enthusiastic volunteers. We hope to promote farming in Singapore, and inspire others to connect back with our very own countryside.
The Commonwealth Agricultural Conference
Singapore will be hosting the Commonwealth Agricultural Conference this November, which will see delegates from all over the world discuss farming in the face of urbanization.
